This website has addressed the main issues the group have explored with regard to mind-controlled prosthetics. We have considered the history of prosthetics and we have shown how it has evolved. Through examining the history of prosthetics, we can see the evolution of prosthetic limb technology to reach the ultimate aim of restoring normal functions to amputees. Building on the foundation of earlier works, mankind has developed mind-controlled prosthetic limbs, opening up a box of endless possibilities for the future. We have also presented the technology behind this mind-controlled prosthetics – Targeted Muscle Reinnervation and the geniuses behind it. Furthermore, we have found some products using this sort of technology already available in the market. Furthermore, we delved into the limitations or the problems that might arise with the use of these devices, the kind of improvements that might help to resolve some of these issues. In addition, we explored the future possibilities of the use of mind-controlled prosthetics such as being the permanent cure for paralysis to the building of robots. We also shared with you one of our inspirations, Zac Vawter who has changed the way we thought of prosthetics.

We embarked on the journey to finding out more about this technology and how it could possibly change the world. We recognize that there are still some issues or challenges surrounding mind-controlled prosthetics. But the future and potential of them are beyond the scope of our imagination. Perhaps somewhere in the near future, amputees might be able to regain a sense of touch (already undergoing research), or it can be used in healthcare such as determining the mental state of mind of patients to using this mind-controlled prosthetics on animals.

Mind-controlled prosthetics has come a long way and we know that we can only expect a lot more from this field. Hopefully, with the fast advancements and breakthroughs created everyday, the mind-controlled prosthetics could be the perfect replacement, or might become even better, than the original!

We hope you have enjoyed our website as much as we have enjoyed doing it!
