Mind-controlled prosthetics will serve as a permament cure for paralysis as it allows people to do the things they can’t due to paralysis injuries.

In the near future, the use of mind-prosthetics can also be used on animals. These prosthetics will be able to cure paralysis problems for animals, just like how it provides solution and cure for humans. However, animals may take a different stand on the acceptance of the concept of prosthetics as compared to people. If these mind-controlled prosthetics look different and ususual from how it’s supposed to look like, these animals may feel uncomfortable about themselves, and could sometimes also be rejected form their herd. This may led to detrimental psychological problems for the animal. Also, it will be difficult for animals to learn about the use and control of these new mind-controlled prosthetics as much as how it will be hard for humans to train them on these know-how. Also, if these mind-controlled prosthetics require large numbers of wires to be connected to the animals, it may be viewed as a health and safety hazard as the lack of knowledge these animals have on the wires may caused them to be electrocuted or poisoned.

This is very beneficial for the medical sector, particularly in the psychology field. Instead of encouraging patients to express their feelings in words or drawings, doctors can use these mind-controlled prosthetics to determine the true feelings and mindset of a personOn the other hand, these mind-controlled prosthetics can also be used in police and military purposes, particularly in depositions or when speaking on oath to ensure that the particular party does not lie.  However, as these prosthetics are still controlled by the minds of the subject, it may be inaccurate of the patient choose to develop a different type of action which contradicts his/her actual emotions or thoughts. Therefore, improvements must be made to these mind-controlled prosthetics to ensure that they are not maneuvered or influenced by fake or cover-up emotions and thoughts.

The current use of mind-controlled prosthetics are still at its basics, where the device is connected to many wires and people are not familiar in grasping the concept and idea of its uses yet.

In the future, people hope that these mind-controlled prosthetics become wireless to rival biological limbs. In the future, these mind-controlled prosthetics could possibly include sensors to determine the temperature, shape and material of object even before the user touches it. As time passes, doctors willl also make these prosthetics more aesthetically natural to leave a postitive psychological mindset on the users. These prosthetics can also input a certain amount of strength and power of the users’ choice. With this, people of the future may choose to amputate their biological limbs for these mind-controlled prosthetics to be able to reach their desired strength and power which cannot be obtained naturally. If this happens, people without paralysis problems will choose to spend large amounts of money to create mind-controlled prosthetics on themselves, and this will leave a negative impact on the society as people find means to become artificially stronger and better. The increase in the number of people modifying the genetic make-up of humans will cause serious and undesireable social problems. People will find that there is a pressing need for them to look just as perfect and beautiful as everyone else around them. This makes people focus more on their outer appearance, subsequently increasing the number of people who choose to adopt mind-controlled prosthetics or even go for plastic surgery. What the Future Holds

With mind-controlled prosthetics, people will be more inclined to change all parts of their body. This will lead to people creating mind-controlled robots. These robots do not have a heart or mind, but they are wirelessly connected to the owner’s thoughts. This will make people lazy, as they begin to use their ‘alter ego’ to help them do daily tasks such as cooking, writing and typing. Also, people will become over reliant on these robots. Lest these robots fail, people will not be encouraged to complete these daily tasks themselves anymore. In addition, the creation of these robots may be used for military purposes which goes against the aim of reducing of arms around the world today. Countries which holds such advanced technology will be inclined to defeat and take advantage of weaker states using their new found mind-controlled army.

If the current state of mind-controlled prosthetics allows the human mind to control artificial limbs, it could work as a two-way street in the future. This means that as much as minds are used to control limbs, people can also use these mind-controlled prosthetics to read the human mind. For example, by ‘attaching’ a mind-controlled prosthetic arm to a depressed patient, the actions that the arms make can be used to ‘read’ the body language of the depressed patient, allowing doctors to better understand the patients’ psychological problems and feelings.

Compete with Market for Prosthetics

People will also be more inclined to use mind-controlled prosthetics instead of usual prosthetics as it allows them to naturally and smoothly control their limbs using their mind, which is not possible with standard prosthetics. However, the use of mind-controlled prosthetics takes time and effort for it to be mastered, such like learning a whole new skill and people may not feel the need for such complications. Also, mind-controlled prosthetics are currently very costly due to the lack of supply caused by intensive knowledge and costs of production. However, as time goes and the supply of mind-controlled prosthetics increases, it will eventually become affordable eliminate normal and standard prosthetics from the market.
